Stern EWS thermal protection fabrics are composed of high-performance Nomex and Teflon fibers. They comply with strict flammability testing specifications, such as

NFPA 70E
NFPA 2112
FAR 25
ASTM 6413
ASTM F1959-99
NASA test methods for materials used in oxygen-enriched environments or that come in contact with hypergolic fuels.

Due to their non-melt and high strength sustainability at both high and ultra-low temperatures, thermal protection fabrics are commonly found as

aircraft panels
laboratory and explosives barriers
protective apparel
fuel control diaphragms and hoses

Stern EWS thermal protection fabrics are designed into outerspace applications, including space launch systems. For those applications subject to extremely low temperatures, thermal protection fabrics retain strength as well as flexibility. Besides space launch systems, typical applications include space suits, satellite panels, and payload liners.

Composed of 100% Nomex fibers, Stern EWS’s ChemArc™ fabrics are approved for arc flash protection fabrics in automotive, electronics, and pharmaceutical cleanrooms. They are inherently static dissipative.
